The Mothers Union in the Diocese of Kajo Keji is setting up Poultry Projects in 5 parishes. Each project includes the construction of a 3m x 10m chicken house with surrounding enclosure together with feed & feeders, drinkers & vaccines. Chicks will be reared and sold for a profit and the money raised used to purchase further chicks until capacity is reached. Once established, the women will form Community Savings Groups from which individual woman will be able to borrow money to fund their own small businesses, providing themselves with a means of support.
Projects Delivering Hope has already funded the first two parish projects. With our 2025 Christmas Appeal, we are aiming to fund the next two poultry projects at £2,700 each.
